The TerraSAR-X Payload Ground Segment: Pre-Launch Status and Performance
نویسندگان
چکیده
TerraSAR-X, the first national German radar satellite, is scheduled for launch in 2006. It carries an X-band highresolution synthetic aperture radar instrument featuring imaging modes like StripMap, ScanSAR and, particularly, SpotLight in a variety of different polarization modes [1] [2]. Thus the TerraSAR-X mission will provide both the scientific [3] and commercial [4] user community with a variety of products from advanced SAR modes.

متن کاملPre-Launch Characterization of the WISE Payload
The Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE), launched in December 2009, is a NASA-funded Explorer mission that is providing an all-sky survey in the mid-infrared with far greater sensitivity and resolution than any previous IR survey mission. The Utah State University Space Dynamics Laboratory designed, fabricated, and characterized the science payload, which is a cryogenically cooled infrar...
متن کاملResults from Terrasar-x Geometric and Radiometric Calibration
As TerraSAR-X, due for launch in June 2007, will be an operational scientific mission with commercial potential, product quality is of crucial importance. The success or failure of the mission essentially depends on the calibration of the TerraSAR-X system ensuring the product quality and the correct in-orbit operation of the entire SAR system. This paper describes the calibration procedures fo...
متن کاملT/R Module Performance Monitoring of the TerraSAR-X Active Phased Array Antenna
The German remote sensing satellite TerraSAR-X, launched in 2007, hosts a flexible XBand synthetic aperture radar (SAR) operating in Stripmap, Spotlight, ScanSAR, and additional experimental modes. For these various antenna beams, its active phased array antenna electronically steers and shapes the patterns in azimuth and elevation direction. The array consists of 384 radiating sub-arrays for h...
متن کاملThe TerraSAR-X Mission
The German national SAR-satellite system TerraSAR-X is based on a public-private-partnership agreement between the German Aerospace center DLR and EADS Astrium GmbH. It is the continuation of the scientifically and technologically successful radar missions X-SAR (1994) and SRTM (2000) and is designed for scientific and commercial applications. The TerraSAR-X features an advanced high-resolution...
